Busy Week

We have had a crazy busy week with lots of appointments for Kinzy. I really feel that we are finally getting some help with her and not being pushed aside or looked at like we are the crazy ones. I ran all over East Texas for 4 days this weeks getting Kinzy to appointments while also fitting in all of our normal routine and school. She did really well with all the appointments and talked when asked questions. I decided to order groceries online to pick up on Monday when we have to be back at appointments in Tyler. I have never done this but feel it may help me out as this past week I had no free time. A few of the appointments ran much longer then expected and then we had to rush to get to other appointments so shopping was put aside. I didn't want to make an extra trip over the weekend so that I could also get things done at home that I was behind on. We have only had 1 day this week of Kinzy having a day of raging anger so that is a plus. She has really handled all of this very well. I am proud of her for wanting to work on helping herself. This coming week we have 4 appointments. Two of them on Monday, one on Wednesday and one on Friday. Chris will be off on Friday so he said he will take her to that appointment. At this point I am all in with getting all the help we can to keep her with us in our home and with our family.

Adjusting Well

It has been two weeks since Kinzy arrived in the USA. It was an adjustment for everyone in the beginning. She had a rough time on our first flight from Moscow to London with it being a 4 hr flight and her screaming for 3 hrs of that flight. I ried right along with her for 45min I think. She and I both were so messed up on our sleep. Then I warned the passengers around us on the flight from London to Dallas that the last flight did not go so good. She then slept at least 6 hrs of that 9 hr flight. We introduced her to the pool the day after we got home and she loves the water. I purchased a jogging stroller and she loves riding in that as well. She checked out great with the doctors weighing in at almost 23 lbs and 29.25 in tall. She is in the 50-75% for weight and 25-50% for height. She eats very good with un introducing table food right away to her. Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Chris writes I woke up early so I finally can use the computer. What a pain to share one computer on dial up with every guest in the hotel. It flurried all day Wednesday, but just a dusting. Knock on wood but the weather here has been pretty sweet for a February. It stays at high 20's low 30's, but we still miss home. We are excited to have Dexter to ourselves tommorow. This will be his first car ride. Stacy bought him some more toys at the grocery and department store. We have all our gifts bought to give to nurses,staff,head doctor, passport people, etc. Our translater says you must do this it is the way things work here. We bought flowers, chocolate, champaign, and brought other things from home. Stacy writes I was not to happy with Chris waking me up at 5:30 am to get on the internet but he is right it is a pain. Countdown Begins-T Minus 10

Hello to all. The weather today was a bit colder then it has been. It is very damp but still continue to walk back to hotel from orphanage. Dexter was a little sleepy at this morning visit. We took a coloring book and crayons(from Aunt Lisa) for him to play with since it was to cold to go outside. The other children did not go outside today either so the halls were filled with kids. Dexter would hide his crayons and other toys so the other children would not see them. He did not want to go back to his groupa this morning. We could hear him crying as we walked away. This is only the second time he has done this. We keep telling him only ten more days and we will break you out of here. We stopped at a shopping mall on our way back today. They are not the same as our shopping malls. Here they are more like small booths at a flea market. I think I am going to have to purchace a purse for myself here in Ukraine. I have seen many I like.
